Sergey Gritsak was born in the Ukraine in 1969. He felt the desire
to paint in early childhood and started developing his art skills.
Throughout his school years he was considered the best artist in
his school. After two years of Soviet Military service he devoted
himself totally to painting.In 1994, Sergey immigrated to the United States. It was difficult to adapt to a new world, but the desire to paint never left Sergey. He started painting again in his new environment. While attending Sacramento City College, Sergey took oil painting and other art classes. He learned new techniques and styles and learned he was quite adept at working in pastels.
His favorite subject is landscapes with trees reflected in the water along the American River, where he spends most of his spare time.
